Sheldon has spent decades serving patients in Tooele County, giving him firsthand insight into the public’s healthcare needs. He has the experience to advocate for constituents at the State Legislature.
Sheldon believes:
• In lowering prescription drug costs through competition and transparency
• In protecting access to local, independent pharmacies and healthcare providers
• In improving access to care in rural communities

As President of the Tooele Education Foundation Board and Member of the Tooele Technical College Board, Sheldon has gained the experience and perspective to appreciate the challenges surrounding public education and to lead efforts to find solutions that support and improve opportunities for our teachers and students.

Sheldon already advocates for small and rural communities at the regional transportation level and will continue to represent local families and priorities at the State Legislature.

In advocating for the region’s needs on the WFRC Active Transportation Committee
In understanding the need for efficient and reliable transportation corridors in all counties
In supporting regional trail systems to reinforce transportation choice and active lifestyles

As Chair of the Erda City Council, Sheldon Birch has moderated difficult discussions about land use and growth in our small city and will continue to ensure control of these issues remains at the local level.
Sheldon believes:
That growth must respect the character of the community and protect existing residents.
Infrastructure should be planned before development, with strong public input and clear rules for developers
That land use decisions belong in local communities, not the State
